London Oxford airport has decided to spend £2.2m in new high-strength apron to improve aircraft capacity. The airport will also rework on its runways and will provide new hangar to compete with London airports.

The apron development will include growth in capacity and infrastructure development resulting in double the parking capacity at the airport for aircraft weighing up to 50 tonnnes.

Children help Police to control speeding drivers at Derbyshire

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Children from Ashbrook Junior School are helping their local safer neighborhood officers control and monitoring traffic using laser speed guns.

If a vehicle is breaking the limit, then it is stopped and children talk to driver about speed limit and the dangers of hitting a child.

The act of children pointing out the dangers of speed forces drivers to be careful and consider the consequences and risks of speeding. It is hoped this will have a strong long-term influence on speeding drivers, and children will learn about road safety measures which can help them in future.

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Transferring between North and South terminals at Gatwick couldn’t be easier. The newly re-opened shuttle service operates 24 hours a day between North and South Gatwick Airport terminals and takes just two minutes.

The mainline train station is in the South Terminal of Gatwick Airport (LGW). Simply follow signs for North Terminal when you arrive at South Terminal Gatwick.  Alternatively, if you’ve arrived at North Terminal and are travelling onwards by train, just follow signs to South Terminal.

The renewed shuttle service at Gatwick airport in West Sussex has been completed ahead of schedule. The £ 45m upgraded service will speed up the time it takes passengers to travel between the north and south terminals.  Passengers were using bus service when the work started in September 2009.  New trains were place in February to replace the entire old terminal system which was installed at the airport in 1987.
